anthocerotae - Homworts, class of Bryophyta. Small group, widely distributed, especially in tropical and warm temperate regions, growing on moist soils. Plant is a thin, lobed, dorsiventral thallus, anchored by rhizoids. Chloroplasts unique outside algae in each containing a pyrenoid. Capsule cylindrical and, by means of an intercalary meristem near base, is able to continue growth and to produce spores, as long as gametophyte lives.
