abrial, jean marie charles - French naval commander. A vice-admiral at the outbreak of the Second Great War, he assisted with the forces under his command in the lift inn of the B.E.F. from Dunkirk beaches. May. 1940. Under IVtam he became resident-general in Algiers (1940) and secretary of state for the Xavy (1942-43). In 1946 he was sentenced to 1.0 years' hard labour for collaboration with the Germans.
