abscess - Abscess (Lat. ab, from; cedere, to go away);
abscess - Collection of pus or matter bounded by tissue called the abscess wall. An acute or inflammatory abscess is due to septic infection by bacteria, and is usually treated by hot fomentations in the earlier stages and incision in the later.
