adams, james truslow - Adams, james truslow (b. 1878)
adams, james truslow - American historian. Born at Brooklyn, Oct. 18, 1878, he was educated at Yale and was in business until 1912, though also engaged in literary work. During the First Great War he served in the intelligence department and helped Col. E. M. House (q.v.) to prepare material for the peace conference. His books include The Founding of New England, 1921, Searchlight on America, 1930, The Epic of America, 1931, The Album of American History (vol. 1, 1944). He was editor-in-chief of the Dictionary of American History, 1941.
