adams, sabah flower - English poetess. Born at Great Harlow, Essex, Feb. 22, 1805, a daughter of Benjamin Flower, a political writer of radical views, she married William Bridges Adams, an inventor of some importance in the early days of railways. She wrote a number of hymns, of which the best known is Nearer, my God, to Thee. She died in August, 1848.
