adrastus - In Greek legend, king of Argos and Sicyon. With six other chiefs, he organized the expedition of the Seven against Thebes to restore the fugitives Tydeus and Polyneices, in which all the leaders perished except himself. Ten years later he led the sons of the fallen heroes, known as Epigoni or descendants, in a second war, in which Thebes was taken and destroyed.
