Значение термина renal portal system в knolik

renal portal system - renal portal system
renal portal system - In fish and Amphibia blood is brought from capillaries of posterior end of body (hind limbs, tail) to kidneys by a pair of renal portal veins (really part of posterior cardinal veins), which break up into capillaries in kidney mainly around tubules. Blood is collected up again either into posterior cardinal veins (fish) or renal veins and vena cava inferior (Amphibia). This portal system is slightly or not at all developed in amniotes, which have a different sort of kidney (metanephros). See also: Portal vein.
