aali pasha - Aali Pasha (1815-71)
aali pasha - Turkish statesman and diplomatist. He served in Vienna and London, was twice foreign minister under Reshid Pasha, and five times grand vizier. He took part in the negotiations that ended the Crimean War, including the Congress of Paris in 1856. A skilful diplomatist, he endeavoured to introduce western methods into Ottoman administration.
