agrippina the younger - Agrippina the Younger (c, a.d. 15-59)
agrippina the younger - Called the Younger, she was a daughter of Germanicus by Agrippina the Elder. Her first husband was Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus, by whom she had a son, afterwards the emperor Nero. Later she married her uncle the emperor Claudius and persuaded him to adopt her son, to the detriment of Britannicus, his own son by his former wife Messalina. When Claudius died in 54, it was said he was poisoned by Agrippina. Nero, on his accession, had her assassinated. Agrippina wrote Memoirs (Commentarii), now lost.
